Bayesian survival analysis with BUGS
نویسندگان
چکیده
Survival analysis is one of the most important fields statistics in medicine and biological sciences. In addition, computational advances last decades have favored use Bayesian methods this context, providing a flexible powerful alternative to traditional frequentist approach. The objective article summarize some popular survival models, such as accelerated failure time, proportional hazards, mixture cure, competing risks, multi-state, frailty, joint models longitudinal data. Moreover, an implementation each presented model provided using BUGS syntax that can be run with JAGS from R programming language. Reference other R-packages also discussed.

Bayesian Analysis of Survival Data with Spatial Correlation
Often in practice the data on the mortality of a living unit correlation is due to the location of the observations in the study. One of the most important issues in the analysis of survival data with spatial dependence, is estimation of the parameters and prediction of the unknown values in known sites based on observations vector. In this paper to analyze this type of survival, Cox...
متن کاملTutorial: Doing Bayesian Data Analysis with R and BUGS
This full-day tutorial shows you how to do Bayesian data analysis, hands on. The software is free. The intended audience is graduate students and other researchers who want a ground-floor introduction to Bayesian data analysis. No mathematical expertise is presumed. If you can handle a few minutes of summation notation like ∑i xi and integral notation like ∫ xdx, you’re good to go. Complete com...
متن کاملBUGS in Bayesian Stock Assessments
This paper illustrates the ease with which Bayesian nonlinear state-space models can now be used for practical sheries stock assessment. Sampling from the joint posterior density is accomplished using Gibbs sampling via BUGS, a freely available software package. By taking advantage of the model representation as a directed acyclic graph, BUGS automates the hitherto tedious calculation of the fu...
متن کاملThe BUGS Book: A Practical Introduction to Bayesian Analysis
BUGS is a software project that began in Cambridge, England, and has been actively ongoing for more than twenty years. Its core purpose is to provide a computational companion to Bayesian statistical analyses, and the software makes extensive use of Markov chain Monte Carlo and similar simulation methods. At present the software exists in a number of versions, such as WinBUGS, OpenBUGS, and JAG...
متن کاملBUGS for a Bayesian Analysis of Stochastic Volatility Models
This paper reviews the general Bayesian approach to parameter estimation in stochastic volatility models with posterior computations performed by Gibbs sampling. The main purpose is to illustrate the ease with which the Bayesian stochastic volatility model can now be studied routinely via BUGS (Bayesian Inference Using Gibbs Sampling), a recently developed, user-friendly, and freely available s...
